Virginia Man Pleads Guilty to Trafficking in Illegally-Imported Sperm Whale Teeth
WASHINGTON – Melinda Clayton of Montgomery, Ala., pleaded guilty today to charges of conspiring to defraud the United States by filing false claims, wire fraud and aggravated identity theft, the Justice Department and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) announced.
According to the plea agreement, Clayton admitted that between January and April 2011, she conspired with others to defraud the United States by obtaining or aiding to obtain the payment of false, fictitious and fraudulent claim .... [More]
