Still time to help with Anchorage's annual cleanup effort
Cleanup Week is drawing to a close. Residents may pick up orange trash bags at the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce office and Fred Meyer stores in Anchorage and Eagle River. Trash in the orange bags is accepted free today and Saturday. All trash, in orange bags or not, can be dropped off at no cost Saturday, the last day of Cleanup Week, at the following locations:
Anchorage Regional Landfill, Glenn Highway at Hiland Road, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Anchorage Central Transfer Station, 54th Avenue and Juneau Street, off Old Seward Highway, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and the Girdwood Transfer Station, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
