onfirm your eligibility to marry. Alaska requires that the bride and groom be at least 16 years old in order to enter into a legal marriage and must present government-issued photo IDs as evidence of age. The bride and groom may not be legally married to any other individual at the time of application, and any prior divorces must be final and previously filed with the court in the state granted. Ensure timely completion of the marriage application. Alaska requires that you wait 3 full business days after the application is submitted before it is approved/released and the marriage ceremony can be performed. In addition, approved licenses will expire 3 months after the date of issuance.

Secure a copy of the marriage license application from the official Alaska Bureau of Vital Statistics web site or at a local Bureau Office or Alaska Court.

Complete the application honestly and accurately. You must use blue or black ink and print clearly.
Submit the application to the Bureau Office or Alaska court (except in Anchorage, Fairbanks or Juneau) closest to where the ceremony will be performed, or where the license can be easily picked up when complete. Both parties must be present at the time of submission/issuance.

    Pay the license application fee of $50.
