In what’s probably a sign of how partisan the debate over health care is getting, Sens. Lisa Murkowski and Mark Begich split their votes Tuesday on a measure that would have restricted how federal money could be used for abortion.

Murkowski, a Republican, voted against tabling the measure, proposed by an anti-abortion Democrat, Sen. Ben Nelson of Nebraska. Begich, a Democrat, voted to table Nelson’s proposal.

The amendment failed to move forward, 54-45
